Blogging scares me because I feel
that it is something meant for the creative, exciting, and talented. Being my first post, I didn’t have a clue what
to write about. The possibilities are endless. My first thought was it should probably
give you some insight about me (since you might not know anything). I think one
of the easiest ways to learn about a person is to know about their favorites.
Whether it is favorite movies, favorite book, favorite songs, or favorite people,
you can come to understand someone better from knowing about at least one of
their favorite things.
I
think one of my obsessions is looking up quotes (thank you Pinterest). “Quotes say more about the person that chose
them then the person who wrote it.” I heard that once and I believe it
wholeheartedly. I have so much trouble putting my feelings into words. I know
that my actions show my emotions way better than words ever will, but when I am
troubled, thrilled, or feel numb, I find quotes that put my thoughts into
words. So to understand me better, I thought it would be cool to share
some of my favorite quotes of all time with you.
7. “When the power of love is
greater than the love of power, the world will know peace.”
This
one speaks to me for many reasons. People today always are looking for ways to
be on top. Maybe if we showed more love to others and picked that over being
the best, the world would be better. God is love. We need the power of God’s
love to be over the power of sin.
6. “Your biggest challenge isn’t
someone else. It’s the ache in your lungs and the burning in your legs, and the
voice inside you that yells ‘can’t’, but don’t listen. You just push harder.
And then you hear the voice whisper ‘can.’ And you discover that the person you
thought you were is no match for the person you really are.”
I used to struggle with confidence
(still do). I constantly compare myself to others. Believing you are never good enough is tough,
but it’s something you work on. Everyone is good enough.

“I’ve got barbecue sauce on my shirt too. Before saying something about the barbecue
sauce on somebody else’s shirt, take a look at the barbecue sauce on your own
shirt.”
If you have never seen kid president
on YouTube I highly recommend it. He is an adorable young boy who has such a
positive outlook on life. He said this in a video called 20 things we should
say more often. This quote is great
because it reminds me that I have faults and so do others. Before I get upset
or blow up at someone, I should remember they are going through things just
like I am.
4. “The best way to find yourself
is to lose yourself in the service of others.”
I
love volunteering. When I grow up, I want to become a grade school teacher because
I have seen kids struggle and no one offer them a helping hand. Shaping kids to
become successful, respected, and confident adults is my dream. Kids need that
from an early age. I plan on losing myself in helping out kids in any way I
possible.
3. “Pick you battles.”
I
am very passionate about what I believe in. Whether it is how to raise kids or
my belief in God, I stand firm in my decisions. We all don’t have the same opinion
(which is why they are opinions). My mom
always would say this to me because some fights in life, just aren’t worth the
battle. She taught me to stick up for
myself but when it is the proper time and place.
2. “No matter where you go, no
matter you do, I’ll always love you.”
My
dad has probably said this to me more than enough times in my life. It constantly
reminds me that his love is unconditional. That is so comforting to me. I’m
blessed to have him as my dad.

“We are beautiful because God created us in his
likeness and image, but we are a mess because we sin. Therefore we are a
BEAUTIFUL MESS.”
This quote is how I picked my blog title. I went on a mission trip this
summer and this was our theme…That we are all a beautiful mess. The mission trip
has changed my life in all sorts of ways. I am reminded every day how wonderful
God is and how I should try to show the world his beauty that surrounds us.
I hope you enjoyed my favorite quotes. What are some of your favorite
quotes?
Stay beautiful,
Sabrina
